Research student positions - Tutkijaopiskelijapaikat

Applications are invited for eight positions starting on the 1st of November 2007, and for a reserve list that will be valid until the next application. The goal for those who are starting their graduate studies is a doctoral degree in four years in these positions. Infotech Oulu Graduate School has 25 research student positions financed by the Ministry of Education. The funding is secure to the end of 2009.

Fields of the school are electronics, communications engineering, and computer science and information engineering. The director of the school is Professor Risto Myllylä.

The fellowships can be applied by new graduate students and also those who have already started their studies. Those who will get their degrees by the end of December 2007 can also apply. The funding cannot be started before the date of graduation. The following things are appreciated: grades, research activity, research plan and practice of work.

The research work will be done in the research groups of Infotech Oulu that have been selected for the time period 2006 - 2009 (full or associate members). Applicants outside these groups need to contact a professor in these groups before the application deadline, and ask for a short letter of reference.

The salary is corresponds to old A18 without the seniority bonus, but generally the research groups pay extra salary from projects so that the final salary will be equal to the salary of other researchers.

• short letter of reference from supervising professor (who belongs to the research groups)

Haemme jatko-opiskelijoita kahdeksalle paikalle alkaen 1.11.2007, sekä varahenkilölistalle, jota käytetään jatkossa vapautuvien paikkojen täyttämiseen seuraavaan hakuun asti. Jatko-opintonsa aloittavilla on tavoitteena tohtorin tutkinto neljässä vuodessa näillä paikoilla. Infotech Oulun tutkijakoululla on 25 opetusministeriön rahoittamaa nelivuotista tutkijaopiskelijapaikkaa, joiden rahoitus on turvattu vuoden 2009 loppuun asti.

Tutkijakoulun alat ovat elektroniikka, tietoliikennetekniikka, ja tietojenkäsittelytiede ja -tekniikka. Koulun johtajana toimii professori Risto Myllylä.

Tutkijaopiskelijapaikkoja voivat hakea sekä uudet, että opinnoissaan jo pidemmälle edenneet jatko-opiskelijat. Lähtövaatimuksena on suoritettu yliopistollinen loppututkinto. Myös joulukuun 2007 loppuun mennessä valmistuvat voivat hakea.  Rahoitus ei kuitenkaan voi alkaa ennen valmistumista. Valintaan vaikuttavia tekijöitä ovat arvosanat, aktiivisuuden osoittaminen tutkimustoiminnassa, tutkimussuunnitelma ja aiempi työkokemus.

Tutkimustyö tehdään Infotech Oulun tutkimusryhmissä, jotka on valittu kaudelle 2006 - 2009 (varsinaiset tai liitännäisjäsenet). Ulkopuolelta tulevan hakijan tulee määräaikaan mennessä ottaa yhteyttä johonkin tutkimusalansa professoriin näissä ryhmissä ja pyytää tältä lausunto.

Palkkaus vastaa vanhaa A18:aa ilman ikälisiä. Tutkimusryhmät yleensä maksavat lisäpalkkaa projektirahoituksesta, jolloin kokonaispalkka tulee yhtä suureksi kuin vastaavilla ryhmän muilla tutkijoilla.

• hakulomake
• ansioluettelo ja lista julkaisuista
• jäljennökset aikaisemmista todistuksista (yo- ja korkeakoulututkinto) ja opintosuorituksista
• opinto- ja tutkimussuunnitelma (yhteensä max. 3 sivua)
• tutkimusryhmään kuuluvan professorin (ohjaajan) lyhyt lausunto

Tutkimussuunnitelman on sisällettävä seuraavat asiat (-> research_plan.txt)
